Overview
The proposed Bonshaw Energy Park is a 200 megawatt (MW) solar farm with Energy Storage Facility project located in Bonshaw NSW.
Using a high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) module with single axis tracking array structure, it will produce over 560 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable energy each year on average for 25 years. The site is in Inverell Shire Council Area and next to Tenterfield council Area.
Its benefits and commitments to Australia and the local community are clear:
It will contribute to reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, thus helping Australia to meet its ambitious Renewable Energy Target (RET) by generating electricity with a reliable renewable energy source
Average 70,000 Australian homes will have benefit of receiving power from a cleaner energy source and displace 600,000 tones of carbon dioxide.
Around 200 workers will be locally hired during the construction phase/Stage1 and they will directly help the local economy with incomes and spending.
Our priority is to work with local businesses and service providers not only for the construction, but also for the operation and maintenance of the Bonshaw Solar Farm.
